Heidelberg Studies in Pacific Anthropology

Edited by Jürg Wassmann

„Heidelberg Studies in Pacific Anthropology“ publishes collections and monographs of local worldviews in distinct and hitherto largely unknown Pacific cultures. The focus of all studies is the concept of personhood that shapes relevant topics of these Pacific societies: lifecycle, ideas about past and future, space and time as well as aspects of sociality and cultural identity. The attention is focused on the local actors’ views and it is their voices that are heard. Long-term anthropological fieldwork forms the basis for these volumes.
